Andy Willis, Lead Service Technician for Damuth Trane’s Southside East Service Team, is celebrating his 20th anniversary with the company this month. He originally came to Damuth Trane after working alongside Damuth associates on various projects while with his previous employers. Andy admired the associates’ knowledge and respected Damuth as the “best of the best” in the industry.
With over 40 years of HVAC-R experience, Andy is truly an expert in the field. He began his HVAC-R career straight out of high school, earning his associate degree in HVAC from New Hampshire Technical Institute. From there, he worked for a couple of other companies for a total of 20 years before joining Damuth Trane in 2004 as a Service Technician. In 2015, he was promoted to his current role as Lead Service Technician for the Southside East Service Team.
Lead Service Technicians at Damuth Trane are responsible for operating, repairing, and maintaining a variety of equipment, from chilled water systems to computerized building management systems and everything in between. In addition, they provide leadership and expertise to fellow technicians in the field as well as job planning, estimating, and sales support. Lead Service Technicians serve as the communication liaison between their assigned team and management.
With safety being the top priority for all Damuth Trane’s field technicians, service technicians are required to undergo numerous safety training courses and ensure proper procedures are being followed while both in and out of the field. Over the past 20 years, Andy has undergone countless training courses and received several certifications to maintain his knowledge and skillset as a Lead Service Technician.
David Bannon, Southside East Service Team Leader said of Andy: “Andy is passionate about providing his clients with the best service possible; striving to provide the Damuth 5-Star Experience. He has made lasting connections throughout his 20 years here at Damuth. Andy has been a great mentor to many of his fellow associates and technicians; always willing to share his knowledge and experience unselfishly.”
Andy resides in Chesapeake, Virginia with his wife of 32 years. In his free time, he enjoys many outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and cooking, as well as spending time with friends and family – especially his four-year-old grandson. When discussing his experience at Damuth Trane, Andy expressed: “I continue to appreciate the opportunity of being part of this great company for 20 years now, which has afforded me the abilities to become a much more rounded technician – broadening my mechanical abilities and knowledge far beyond what I came here with. It’s a blessing to be surrounded by, work with, and learn from the best team around.”
Congratulations, Andy, on 20 years here at Damuth Trane and thank you for the impact you have made on this organization and our clients!
