Chesapeake, Virginia - Damuth Services (d.b.a. “Damuth Trane”) has once again earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) ENERGY STAR® certification for its headquarters at 1100 Cavalier Blvd. in Chesapeake for the year 2024. The company first earned this designation in 2001 and has achieved it 15 additional years since, reflecting a history of continued energy savings.
Committed to energy conservation and lessening their environmental footprint, Damuth Trane was the first commercial office building in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area to earn the ENERGY STAR certification, and one of only five buildings in the entire state of Virginia when they first earned the designation in 2001. Damuth Trane was also the first Trane franchise to ever achieve this certification. The company’s headquarters is currently the second ranked commercial building in total number of years certified within the Hampton Roads region and fourth highest out of all commercial buildings in the state of Virginia.
On average, ENERGY STAR certified buildings are verified to perform in the top 25 percent of buildings nationwide, use 35 percent less energy, cause 35 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions, and are less expensive to operate than their peers—all without sacrifices in performance or comfort. Damuth’s main building specifically prevents over 72 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions on average (compared to the national median), which is equivalent to the emissions of 9 homes or 16 passenger vehicles in one year.
"We are honored to have earned another ENERGY STAR certification for 2024 and are grateful for the ability to continually operate efficiently due to our equipment partners and valued team members,” said Clint Damuth, President of Damuth Trane. "Saving energy is just one of the ways we can give back to the community, and we are happy to be able to assist our clients with the same endeavor.”
Damuth Trane seeks to support their clients’ efforts to improve their own building’s energy efficiency and create savings that benefit both their budget and the environment. The company’s increased focus on intelligent building services has allowed for other commercial buildings in the area to achieve an ENERGY STAR certification as a result of their partnership with Damuth Trane.
