Damuth Trane has successfully completed Phase II of the Virginia Challenge Program and is officially moving into Phase III. This is a tremendous safety accomplishment and would not be possible without the associates at Damuth making the decision to work safely on a daily basis.
The company entered into their partnership with the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry's Occupational Safety and Health Program (VOSH) in late 2019 and has continued to make progress towards completing the program over the last few years. The Virginia Challenge Program is a three-phase voluntary program that establishes a cooperative relationship with VOSH and employers throughout the state. As part of this partnership, VOSH continually reviews all elements of a workplace’s safety and health program, including:
- Management Leadership and Employee Involvement
- Worksite Analysis
- Hazard Prevention & Control
- Safety & Health Training
Participation and completion of this program is a crucial step to becoming one of Virginia’s VPP (Voluntary Protection Plan) STAR sites, a distinction only granted to Virginia workplaces with exemplary Safety and Health Programs. Clint Damuth, President of Damuth Trane said of the accomplishment: “I am incredibly proud of our associates’ commitment to safety and health; this is a visible demonstration of that effort. We will continue to point out areas of opportunity to improve in our safety programs as we move forward on our journey to safety excellence!”
