"It’s a mammogram, It’s a breast exam, It’s Super Shero!" That’s the name of Damuth Trane’s bra entry for this years Bra-ha-ha event. The company also raised over $5,400 to donate to Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. This year the committee asked the community to donate various items to be included in three baskets that were raffled off at each parts location. Such items included Jason Aldean VIP passes, a bowling party, and a day on the golf course. In addition, associates and local businesses made monetary donations up to the very last day.
"We were able to contribute $5,481 to the Bra-ha-ha fundraiser! I’m always proud to see how much our associates and clients are willing to help out for a good cause," stated Bruce Woodward, Building Maintenance with Damuth Trane and company Bra-ha-ha committee member.
Damuth Trane’s office has several women whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. The "Super Shero" bra was inspired by retro super-hero comic books. To incorporate the office survivors the "POW bubbles" are filled with their one word describing their journey. The bra was created to honor the heroes in the office.
The Bra-ha-ha is a lighthearted campaign to raise awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer. This year’s event, being held at the Chesapeake Conference Center, features a formal awards show and silent auction. Following the event the bras will be on display at Greenbrier Mall from October 1st though 13th in Chesapeake, VA.
All proceeds will go to the Chesapeake Regional Breast Center to alleviate financial barriers preventing the early detection and treatment of breast cancer.
