Damuth Trane will be hosting NFPA 70E & You, an OSHA recommended standard for electricity safety, training Wednesday Nov. 14th at their office inChesapeake. Bruce Wilmoth, North America Environmental Health and Safety Leader with Trane, will be instructing the two hour seminar.
NFPA 70E, titled Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace, is a standard of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). There will be live demonstrations of electric arc, how arc rated fabrics work, and shock protection. Participants will see the danger and tragedy of electrical and arc flash incidents and learn new ways of protecting themselves.
“This seminar will explain why we do what we do and wear what we wear,” explains Wilmoth.
Two sessions will be held Wednesday, each targeted for the expected audience. Mechanical contractors should plan to attend the breakfast seminar from 7:00AM-9:30AM, breakfast will be provided. Building Owners, Engineers, Operators, Facility and Property Managers should attend the lunch seminar from 11:30AM – 2:00PM, lunch will be provided.
Each class will show what needs to be considered to be legally compliant and how to keep buildings safe for their occupants and associates.
There is no fee associated with the training. The class will be held at1100 Cavalier Blvd,ChesapeakeVA,23323. Pre-registration is required, seating is limited.
