MCLEAN, VA. Apr. 5, 2019 – Jay Robinson was honored with the Randy Schools Light of Love Award at Special Love’s Annual Gala, held at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner. He is a Controls System Specialist for Damuth Trane and has been with the company for over six years.
Actively involved with the organization, Jay has been a Special Love board member for over 21 years and volunteer for Camp Fantastic, a yearly program run by Special Love for children battling cancer. A personal recipient of its impact, Jay was once a camper himself battling cancer; today, he is a cancer survivor and counselor for children still in the fight.
Kathy Russell, a fellow volunteer and board member, presented the award to Jay. In her speech, she emphasized his values and priorities as a man of “faith, family and service.” Joining him at the event were his wife, Pamela, and three children, Ryan, Becca, and Kristina (pictured below) as well as Phil Damuth, Vice President of Damuth Trane. Damuth is a charitable supporter of Special Love and its programs, such as their annual Tidewater Family Weekend, benefiting families affected by cancer in Southern Virginia.
